Union Pacific is proud to celebrate its 150th Anniversary in conjunction with Louisiana’s 200th Anniversary of statehood April 27-29. The UP 150 Express is scheduled to arrive at Audubon Park on Friday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m.
UP’s Streamliner E-9s and The Promontory museum car will be on display Saturday, April 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with an opportunity to get an up-close look at how crews operate trains by using locomotive simulators. In addition, Union Pacific Railroad employees will provide guests with rail safety information, coloring books and popcorn.
On Sunday, April 29, The Promontory and simulator display will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The traveling exhibit in “The Promontory," provides an opportunity to interact with history via a 65-inch touch video screen highlighting many of the 27 communities the car will be visiting in 2012, including New Orleans.
