Union Pacific will conclude a historic Pacific Northwestern 150th Anniversary tour with a community celebration in Portland, Ore., July 13-14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Amtrak Station, 800 NW 6th Avenue.

The railroad will make the stop after traveling through the region for two weeks with its legendary E-9 locomotives, with celebrations in Boise and Pocatello, Idaho, Spokane, Wash., and Eugene, Ore.

In Portland, the Streamliner E-9s and the Promontory museum car will be on display. “The Promontory” is a traveling museum that allows visitors to explore railroad history via a 65-inch touch video screen highlighting many of the communities the car will be visiting in 2012.

The event also will include free giveaways, such as fans and coloring books, for those in attendance.
