My father and my uncle both worked on the UP. My dad worked in Kellogg, Idaho, and my uncle in Spokane, Wash. I remember growing up around the UPRR -- it was a great time back in the 1960s.
Sometimes, Dad would take us to work with him, and I got a chance to ride on the locos. And one time, we rode from Kellogg to Spokane. That was a lot of fun!
We had relatives in Spokane, and my uncle was an engineer - he drove switch engines. At times, they would let him go to Kellogg to pick up stray cars and bring them back to Spokane. I loved watching my family at work.
So many memories and this is just one. Thanks for letting me share. I hope you enjoy a small part of my history around UPRR.
