UP National Customer Service Center Opens

When the NCSC opened in St. Louis, it was unlike any other customer service system in the country. The center featured one toll-free number for customers across the country — staffed by employees continuously, day and night. Phone wait times were shortened to mere seconds, and the center could handle 20,000 calls a day. Today, the NCSC is located in Omaha and has approximately 500 employees who continue to serve customers ‘round the clock, Monday through Sunday.

In 2004, the National Customer Service Center moved to the new Union Pacific headquarters building in Omaha.

In 2012, Union Pacific celebrates the shared stories that have shaped our country since 1862. To mark our 150th anniversary, we invite you to explore how the nation’s largest railroad came to be and how UP continues to build America with innovation and tenacity, touching the lives of nearly every citizen.
